World Whiskies Awards 2024 Category Winners and Icons of Whisky Rest of World Winners Announced!

01.02.24
The World Whiskies Awards has revealed the next set of category winners and medallists in its 2024 competition, with only the US winners now left to be revealed.
The competition, which judges the very best products in the world of whisky, saw more than 1600 entries this year in 22 categories including Single Malt, Blended, Bourbon, and Rye.

The round one winners and medallists were unveiled at the World Whiskies Awards final judging session at Dockside Vaults in London on 1 February. They exclude the competition’s regional winners from Scotland, which was announced at an awards ceremony in December, and the United States, which will be announced at a ceremony in Louisville, Kentucky on 8 February.

Concurrently, the Icons of Whisky also announced the regional winners for the Rest of World (excluding Ireland, Scotland, the United States, India, and China).

Image with the testimonial: Our Rest of World distillers are proving time and again that the New World’s shorter history of whisky production in no way diminishes its standing in the category globally. From Norway to New Zealand, the Rest of World region is spawning its revered master distillers, building passionate teams of whisky experts, and shedding light on new ways to make whisky, and more distilleries are now showing off their work and wares to the public with world-class visitor experiences. As the region continues on this positive trajectory, we at the Icons of Whisky can’t wait to see which avenues these producers will explore next

The World Whiskies Awards category winners will now go on to compete against each other for the titles of Country Best and, if successful, World’s Best in each category. The Country and World’s Best will be announced at the Whisky Magazine Awards gala dinner in London on 20 March, which will also include the announcement of the Icons of Whisky 2024 global winners and new inductees to the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame.
